What are LIVs
(Listed Investment Vehicles)
LIVs is the generic term for professionally managed investment companies and trusts (known as LICs and LITs) listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). You can buy or sell shares in LIVs on ASX.
Buying a share in a LIV makes you a part owner (shareholder) of the LIV and its diversified portfolio of assets. Your investment is pooled with others in the LIV, which is administered by a professional fund manager.
While LICs issue “shares” and LITs issue “units”, for the sake of simplicity on this website we will refer to “shares” to encompass both.

WHO IS LISTED
Listed is the Listed Investment Companies and Trusts Association. Today there are approximately 85 investment companies and trusts listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) owned by over 850,000 Australian investors.
Listed investment companies and trusts are commonly referred to as Listed Investment Vehicles (or LIVs). Listed’s members make up more than 80% of the market capitalisation of ASX listed investment vehicles.

A voice for our industry
As an industry association, LISTED represents LIVs (and their underlying LIV investors) on matters such as regulation, policy and legislation.
We make submissions to Government and regulators on important issues affecting LIVs and their investors. We also work with LIV industry service providers. Our objective is to assist and coordinate LIVs, their investors, service providers and government in the development of a secure and efficient investment industry.
